From NJ.com - Reviewers on restaurant reservation site OpenTable selected Rutherford NJ's Cafe Matisse as one of the Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in the U.S.
The selections were based on more than 5 million reviews submitted through the OpenTable website.
Cafe Matisse was one of two New Jersey restaurants selected. The other was Peter Shields Inn in Cape May.
The Rutherford NJ restaurant received a rare 4-star review from the Record in 2008. Cafe Matisse has been the site of about 60 marriage proposals and 30 weddings, general manager Larry Falcone said.
After the success of the Rutherford location, Chef and owner Peter Loria hoped to open a second restaurant in Montclair, but the planning board there balked at his plans for valet parking.
