See the Full Beaver Moon in Bergen County NJ Nov. 25th!

The November full moon appears on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at 5:44 p.m. and is called the “Full Beaver Moon.” According to “The Farmer’s Almanac,” this was the time to set beaver traps before the swamp freezes, to ensure a supply of warm winter furs. Another interpretation suggests that the name “Full Beaver Moon” comes from the fact that the beavers are now actively preparing for winter. Other names for this moon include “Full Frost Moon.” The Native American Indians of the northern and eastern United States kept track of the seasons by giving a name to each recurring full moon. European settlers followed the custom. The Gazette
